Math for Fun and Profit!

Pundit and Pundette have initiated a game whereby you calculate savings - in money, jobs, goods (whatever unit of value you like!) - using Obamathematics. Just like an Administration official, you, too, can magically pile up oodles of dollars simply by pulling numbers out of that private place unwarmed by sunshine.

For example, Paco Enterprises cancelled its tender offer for a controlling stake in the “new” Chrysler Corporation, which not only saved me fourteen bucks, but, through the miracle of the multiplier effect, resulted in future savings to the insurance industry of approximately one billion dollars, since the proposed Paco Motors/Chrysler combination planned to cut costs by manufacturing brakeless automobiles. Throw in the “traffic torpedo” option that will not materialize now, and – voila! - that’s an insurance and infrastructure savings of another billion samoleans!

See how much you can create or save using this exciting new arithmetic!

Yeah, you are one of those greedy capitalist pigs.

I saved lives and lessened pain in a truly altruistic manner. I am gonna get a Nobel Prize for medicine, I just know it.

Steve you should have seen the hospitals in West Bengal (with a democratically elected Communist govt) in 1985: the cotton mattresses on the beds (no sheets) were black with god-knows-what while rats openly scurried around the mess on the floor - bloody bandages mostly.

A Canadian I knew had his leg blown off by a local IED attack - just a robbery. They put him in one of those beds with 3-4 other people.

It's still not perfect but many hospitals in India now are world-class.

The difference is capilatism - when their Soviet backers collapsed the Indians (led by their current PM Manmohan Singh - a solid decent leader) opened up to global investment.

Yeah I know you're being sarcastic, but if you could see these changes...

Capilatism anyone?

Paco, I'm watching that kind of math at work every day. In complete horror.

And I couldn't resist not passing this up....

TW: finger. Yes, computer, please give the finger to Obamathematics. Please!

Jeff: Some of those TW's are eerily appropriate.
