Walk softly but carry big scissors

Dick Armey and Matt Kibbe outline some substantial cuts in government spending that seem worthwhile. The list isn’t perfect (e.g., my agency isn’t mentioned), but it’s a good start.

Just imagine trillions of future dollars staying in the private-sector economy, under the control of the citizenry. Why, the people might just learn to muddle through without becoming wards of the state. They might actually learn to…live free.

Eliminate the Department of Education, it is counterproductive at the very least. Return all that money to the states.

Drastically reduce the EPA. I heard the other day, no I don't know where, that this agency has increased its budget by 130 percent over the last two years. This is the point agency on cap and trade regulation. Cut its head off.

Drastically reduce the Department of Energy, it doesn't produce any. It has turned into the Department of Solar Panels. Worthless is being too kind. The head of that agency is a big advocate for getting America up to european gas prices.
