The flabby filmmaker would have you believe that people (white people, that is) who own guns for home protection do so out of a primal and unreasonable fear of minorities (the Harvey family of Richmond, Virginia, was not available for comment).
The real question, of course, is not why so many white suburbanites own guns, but why law-abiding citizens – of all races - in violent cities like Chicago and Washington are denied the right to own them.

Sooo... all the minority people who own guns for home protection have a primal and unreasonable fear of... minorities? White people? A hungry Michael Moore when he's looking for a midnight snack?
ReplyDeleteRebecca: I know you're being facetious, but that last one is a legitimate fear.
ReplyDeleteMaybe we should drop little Mikey off around midnight in downtown Baltimore or DC or Los Angeles and see just how quickly he gets his primal on.
ReplyDeleteOh for the days when 'minority' meant not yet an adult. Can we redo the last 50 years?
ReplyDeleteAt least Moore's popularity has fallen drastically. That's why he's suing for a few more profits from his early success - the future looks bleak.
I'd call Michael The Moor something stronger than "Fathead". But I agree in principle.
ReplyDeleteHardly the first time he's ascribed nefarious motives to anyone who doesn't agree with him.
ReplyDelete"The vast majority of these guns are owned by people who live in safe parts of town...places where there are very few murders"
Notice he is (unintentionally) declaring his support for the theory of More Guns = Less Crime.
He basically made the same claim in Bowling for Columbine. Eventually, there will be a permanent disconnect from any logic, reason, or reality and everything, including protesting against Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and expensive legislation, will be called "raaaaaacist." Our only hope is their commitment to civility.
