"Walking meetings"?

Sweet! So, I could at least enjoy a smoke while having to listen to senior management types yammer on about their annual performance goals.

  1. First there was open office, then no office at all, meeting under the trees like arcadian shepherds or philosophers (smoking? give it up for retirement and extend your life Paco).

  2. “This collective action is needed to create a new paradigm...
To ensure widespread adoption of these sectoral efforts, complementary efforts can include training, education, and/or motivational strategies,” the guidelines added.

Well now, this all sounds like a Great Leap Forward, which could be a Cultural Revolution for our country!

  3. People do eat too much sugar. Beyond that, these "guidelines" reek of hemp overlaid with patchouli oil.

Well, except for the part where women should have a smaller daily calorie intake than men. That sounds science based. And sexist. Not to mention racist.

  4. Notice the word "collective" in the first paragraph. That one word told me what was coming.

  5. Bruce: In fact, I gave Mrs. Paco a written non-smoking pledge over the holidays (Effective Date: "Soon. Very soon.")

  6. Was this part of Alinsky's writings?

Paco, is "annual performance goals" code for "my bonus goals"? Congratulations on making the non- smoking pladge! As the ancient saying goes, "The journey starts with the first step".

  7. Five years ago, at age 50, I had one of those colds where you can't stand to smoke, so I took that opportunity to realize that I hadn't enjoyed a marlboro in a couple years, despite smoking several hundred of them.

Since then, I have enjoyed a cigar now and then, but I'm done with the marlboros, and I don't miss them.
