Happy Feet Friday
One of my favorite Tommy Dorsey tunes is this big, brassy swaggering blues recording called "Loose Lid Special".
Love it. The band's sharp but sweet sound, the solos, that lazy Trombone solo of Tommy's: So bluesy but crystal clear, no mute, he's doing it all with his lips and elbows (that'd be the coalminer ancestry).
The Dorseys are the best, I like the earlier stuff where they play together too.
