Is it good or bad that they're finally open about their aims?
ReplyDeleteDoes it show confidence that their goals are within reach, or desperation that their time is passing by? When things go wrong for these people, it can get very messy. Both Hitler and the Japanese militarists expected their people to self immolate on a massive funeral pyre. The old guard Soviets tried calling in the army to crush the people, as did the Chinese Communist, who actually succeeded.
Human beings are nothing to these people. And they all share Stalin's morbid attitude that the death of millions is just a statistic.
Isn't this just a longer version of "You will eat ze bugs, own nothing, and be happy!"

ReplyDeleteGood question. I want to believe the latter, but the West seems to be so morally exhausted as a result of the decades-long barrage of propaganda, proselytization, and (increasingly) lunatic fantasies that I'm not sure the will exists any longer to expunge these wanna-be global dictators.
