Elon Musk and his DOGE operation are doing great work, as they tip over the big rock that's been hiding the deep state and throw light on all the little scurrying cockroaches that make up USAID and its NGO dependents.
I particularly got a kick out of this schematic which reveals the many channels within the USAID network that move gravy to Bill Kristol's money-laundering outfit.
48 vCPUs are throttled curating the USAID grant network for every single EIN, will take a while (~12 hours). Which is fine, it gives @watilo time to prettify it in the morning.

Blame the federal government for creating such computational complexity.
But here's a teaser - this… pic.twitter.com/a8v2ERxxXC
The thing looks like a representation of an especially complex polymer molecule. But then, that's the point; the dubious recipients of taxpayer largesse don't want transparency.
Oh, and this is interesting: "Purge begins as DOGE enters FBI to obtain names of 5,000 agents who worked January 6 cases and face firing".
Five thousand?!? How many people were actually charged; around 1,600, wasn't it? No wonder the FBI was having trouble keeping up with the real criminals who were supposedly "on their radar".
looks like they're setting up for huge RIFs
ReplyDeleteLooks that way. I can't wait until these guys start looking at DOD!
DeleteYeah, 5000. I've read that's 13% of the FBI's workforce, agents and staff combined.
ReplyDeleteTHIRTEEN. PER. CENT.
For 4 years.
The least those clowns should expect is a RIF. The LEAST.
My understanding is that DOJ wants to (initially, anyway) compare the J6 persecutions (not a typo) to other large scale investigations by the FBI, to objectively analyze just how far off the rails Garland and Wray went off the rails.
As for DoD ... ... the upper echelons need a good enema. Or purge, if you prefer. And not just the flag officers, but all the deadwood in the offices and agencies. RIFs are in order.
So.... Elon Musk is the condottierre?
ReplyDeleteI was looking at Trump's EOs.
It's funny, unlike most pols doing that, the name reflects what it actually does.
He didn't have an EO called "Saving Puppies!" that actually funded Hamas, as you know our fine betters are wont to do.
Not so much a mercenary, as he's a patriot, and serving for free (as far as I know). More like a minuteman.
DeleteAnd, yeah, Trump's EOs are blunt. I like that.
I hope they're also looking into all the squads of marching khakis. I'd like to know what that's all about.
ReplyDeleteAre they vital to American security?
It’s also funny that some are calling Musk and DoGE a coup; it’s not a coup if the head of the Executive Branch delegates authority to audit the components of the Executive Branch; and I saw that it’s an existing office in the Executive Office of the President called U.S. Digital Service, which was created by Obama, but not used to this extent before.
ReplyDeleteIs it just me, or is this literally a house of cards that is falling apart at record speed?
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tortured metaphor is by Dave Barry, discussing the Stock Market Crash of 1929, that "the US economy was revealed to be a paper tiger with feet of clay living in a house of cards, that had cried 'wolf' once too often."
DeleteThat's one well-tortured metaphor.
DeletePS: Here's the second part of my comment, which I removed just out of curiosity. Because after five attempts the comment was still getting 'failed to publish'.
ReplyDeleteEvery day there's another bloated agency getting skewered by the DOGE.
