I recall reading that Steven Tyler claimed to have spent $2MM on drugs (mostly cocaine). I bet he was off by a factor of ten.
$15 million or $15 dollars, it's all the same to Joe because there are plenty more taxpayers to fleece, and China's always good for a buck.
Tyler probably spent that much in the 1970s alone.
I met a guy who was the main sound engineer at the LA Forum back then, and he said with a straight face that the quality of the performance of big-time bands depended on the quality and quantity of the coke they had. Fleetwood Mac, who played there many times in the late '70s, were very uneven in their live shows, and it was all due to the coke - they were great if it was good and they didn't "overindulge" before the show.
I can overlook such gaffes because I know what he means, and because we've all made gaffes.
Heck, even fifteen minutes wouldn't be shabby.
