ReplyDeleteI met a guy who was the main sound engineer at the LA Forum back then, and he said with a straight face that the quality of the performance of big-time bands depended on the quality and quantity of the coke they had. Fleetwood Mac, who played there many times in the late '70s, were very uneven in their live shows, and it was all due to the coke - they were great if it was good and they didn't "overindulge" before the show.
I can overlook such gaffes because I know what he means, and because we've all made gaffes.
