I see where a lot of current ("modern", if you like) construction techniques were developed -- the thatch roofing was installed in a fashion similar to asphalt shingles.
I expect that such houses were built much faster "back when" -- similar to a barn raising, with lots of people pitching in.
The other fellow you see in this video is his father. He also has a channel called TA Fishing. His channel is also quite interesting, to get an idea of what anglers are up to in Britain.

I wish they would have shown the inside. I would have loved to have seen the master bedroom and the kitchen.
