I disagree with the 'IQ' crowd and their idea that IQ predicts success. I think there can be, and often are, people with lower IQs who are nonetheless extremely skilful manipulators, relying on instinctive cunning.
No doubt, for most of his career, Biden possessed the low animal cunning and pliable principles that seem to be particularly beneficial to politicians; however, those "assets" are thoroughly depreciated, now, and there's really nothing left but the marionette strings being pulled by others.

Tragically true, and we have reached Mencken's heart's desire: there is a moron in the White House. Bruce is correct about IQ, but there's a corollary. When I worked at my university, I met a great many people with extremely high IQs who couldn't manage the most mundane things without help from other people.
