the more I learn about him the more I like him. A yankee doodle dandy, born on the 4th of July (1872).
There's a well-known story about Coolidge's reticence. At a dinner party, a woman turned to Coolidge and said, "Mr. President, I've bet a friend that I can make you say more than two words".
"You lose", Coolidge responded.
Guy was great, we could use more like him.
Imagine today's politicians saying, "If you see ten troubles coming down the road, you can be sure that nine will run into the ditch before they reach you."
They'd see 10 opportunities for corruption and power, he'd see one thing he has to deal with.
He certainly described the mess we're in, didn't he. Must have been clairvoyant.
That should go viral. January 6 last year was a rising up and taking unified action. If it had happened during Coolidge's administration, there wouldn't be citizens incarcerated in solitary confinement without due process.
