From Ames, Iowa in 1958, here's a video cut from Seventeen, a local teenage dance program that obviously didn't rise to the level of American Bandstand in production quality, but nonetheless possesses a certain charm in its depiction of regular teenagers of the time and place, in all their awkward shyness. The song is "The Stroll", by the Diamonds.

My one claim to "fame" that I have to crow about. The Diamonds still exist, doing casinos and cruise ships and my sister was married/divorced from one of their many replacement guys.
