We need to ban the importation of a$$holes

It's too late in the case of John Oliver, unfortunately, since I believe he has already become a U.S. citizen. But we certainly don't need anymore like him: "John Oliver Ignores the IDF’s Strenuous Efforts to Avoid Civilian Casualties".

What is it with these pommie bastards, anyway? They come over here thinking that we need them to be our political nannies. Just stay home, why don't you, and wallow in the glory of your native country's woke police state and burgeoning Islamo-pedophile ghettos.

  1. They still think we colonials need guidance, forgetting that they would have lost two world wars without our help.

  2. I can never understand why these nasty people come to the US in order to scold and lecture us for our shortcomings. Can't they sneer at us from their own pestilent failed nation-states?

  3. Yes, it's noticeable. Many are just ruthlessly on-the-make. I fear that the prospect of making it in America gives some gold-fever. It seems Oliver got his first taste of the path to superstardom writing for the Daily Show, and appearing on it.

  4. The British attitude to Israel is complicated. My dad remembered Israeli terror attacks against the British 'Palestine' administration in the 1940s which coloured his attitude.

But that's no excuse for Oliver promoting misinformation.

And despite what the article implies, violent opposition to British rule did not start in the 1940s Mandate, but can be traced back a century before in, say, India. The Irgun and Haganah were more systematic and effective however. So I guess they were hated for being more capable and organised. Oh, "those crafty and devious Jews"! Unlike my dad's generation, I admire Israelis for their brilliance combined with humanity.
