Happy Feet Friday

Freddie Slack and his orchestra from 1945 with "Strange Cargo".

  1. Wow, that sounds like the exotica genre which was big in the later 1950s with people like Martin Denny. I see Les Baxter began playing in Slack's band during WW2. Then in 1951 Baxter made the first recording of Quiet Village which was Martin Denny's biggest hit. So Baxter forms a direct link from Slack to the later exotica fad.

    A very exotic boogie-woogie.
