"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
That was a lot of work!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, I didn't know that the blades could be sharpened that way. On the other hand, I only pushed those beasts as a youngster.
That was I, still getting used to this new format.
DeleteI had to look up another video on "backlapping" mower blades, using a sharpening compound. I'm still not sure I understand how it works.
ReplyDeleteI didn't look anything up, but sharpening blades requires a rough surface. Perhaps the sharpening compound is an abrasive that works when the blades hit the bottom plate (which is adjustable).
DeleteThat's a lot of work to fix something I still have nightmares about.
ReplyDeleteWatching someone use their self-propelled mower while I puuuuuuuuuuushed that sonomabatch around was not fun.
Heck, I was happy when I got to use a gas powered mower, self-propelled or not.
