Do you believe in magic?

You must, if you think Joe Biden won the election fairly: "Biden Won 477 Counties vs Obama Who Won 689 in 2012 – Yet Biden Magically Gained 13 Million More Votes Than Obama".

Just one of many curious statistical "anomalies" in this election. The idea that Biden won 13 million more votes than Obama is patently absurd. I doubt that anybody really believes that, including Joe Biden.

Something different

I confess: this is not on my bucket list (it made the hairs on my neck stand up and I noticed a decided weakening of the knees).

Check out friend and commenter ck's rifle build

Pictures of ck's awesome rife project are included in the Gun Thread at Ace's place.

Update  Scored some .45 Schofield ammo last week (a hundred rounds); it can be fired in revolvers chambered in .45 Colt, and the batch I bought was much cheaper than .45 Colt, which is presently very difficult to find, except at exorbitant prices. Although it's a shorter cartridge, I noticed no deterioration in accuracy firing it from a Ruger New Vaquero having a 3.75" barrel, or an Uberti Model 3 top-break revolver having a 5" barrel.

I also stumbled across some info this week pertaining to a caliber called .41 Special. It's a less powerful load that can be used in handguns chambered in .41 Magnum, so less recoil and easier on the hand and wrist. It's technically still considered a "wildcat" cartridge, I believe, but there is at least one company that produces small lots commercially - or did, before the Great Ammo Shortage of 2020; naturally, there's none to be had right now at all.

This story is a couple of months old, but I just heard about it: "Food Lion reverses policy banning employees from wearing US flag masks after Air Force veteran quits in protest".

Sorry, Food Lion, but the original decision never should have happened in the first place. This was something apparently approved at the board level, for God's sake, so if you want my business, get a new board.

Yeah, I know

Most celebrities are neurotic idiots, and I doubt if anyone cares what they think. It's just that, in glancing at the linked article and seeing Rob Reiner's latest belch of nonsense, it suddenly struck me: every single thing Archie Bunker ever said about his meathead son-in-law was true.

Hmmm...

I was sitting in the living room, more or less vegetating after dinner in my La-Z-Boy chair, when I suddenly heard owls hooting in the vicinity. The calls were particularly loud, so I went outside and could just make out the silhouettes of two owls on our roof, perched within 7 or 8 feet of each other, hooting away. They flew off eventually, finding my own attempts at hooting presumptuous and offensive, I suppose.

I thought this was kind of neat, but after researching owl lore a bit, I discovered that they historically have been considered harbingers of death. Mere superstition, of course, but I advised Mrs. Paco and Daisy to be especially on their guard for the next few days.

Here's Gateway Pundit General Counsel John Burns on the wonderful Mr. Robert Heberle:

I saw this worm up close, we all called him ‘Doogie Howser’ because of his unbridled ambition and his smug arrogance, I have no doubt he will see a promotion potential in covering up voter fraud and further persecuting conservatives. He got a little notch in his career from putting innocent people in prison for a decade and I have no doubt he’s going to keep doing the same, the man is the scum of the Earth. He’s deep state cancer. No doubt he looks up to Andrew Weissman, that sociopathic Torquemada, for inspiration.

Well, that looks like an auspicious beginning to the investigation of election crimes, doesn't it?

And, yeah, by all means, let's stay in Afghanistan for another 20 years for the purpose of...well, when you figure out exactly why, General, you be sure and let us know.

Arrogant, insubordinate s**thead.

Update  I hope this is true, because it's probably the only chance General Flynn has of avoiding further ruinous legal defense costs (and, possibly, staying out of jail): "President Trump to Pardon Gen. Michael Flynn, Per Report". This is not the best outcome, but the corrupt and moronic judge who has been presiding over Flynn's trial seems to be able to act with considerable impunity, cheerfully thumbing his nose at higher courts, so this may be the second best alternative.

By the way, in case I haven't said it before, I love my country but my government can go to hell.

I'm thinking Mitt Romney just left one of his tanning reflectors lying around

"Mysterious metal monolith found in Utah desert".

A common feature of totalitarian societies...

...is to enforce rules through the control of "chokepoints" in our lives. In Chile, for example, during the Allende regime, if you were poor and relied on government subsidies for food and medical care, you could find yourself cut off if you didn't vote the right way, or failed to publicly demonstrate your support for the Popular Unity coalition.

In the U.S., the arbitrary and dictatorial edicts of several governors in connection with COVID-19 constitute a trial run for despotism under the cover of any number of potentially "vital" exigencies (climate change, gun control, "right-wing" violence, you name it).  In New Mexico, I suppose many people are going to start having Grub Hub airlift meals in: "New Mexico governor shuts down grocery stores for two weeks".

Then the virus passes over you, as the plague spared Israelites in the Book of Exodus. You just need some bling that tells the Chinese angel of death to spare you, in the form of a “Black Lives Matter” t-shirt or “Joe Biden” sign. Such a wise and discerning virus. No wonder Joe Biden insisted we let more of those million unwitting Chinese bioweapons fly into America. It’s downright xenophobic to keep the virus out of our bodies. Note to Democrats

The ongoing coup by the ruling class may ultimately convince a large portion of Trump's 71 million that our election process is so corrupt that it isn't worthwhile to vote; however, that doesn't mean that the 71 million will not find other ways to secure their rights quite outside of the so-called "democratic" system of government. Liberty and democracy are not the same thing, and if the latter seriously infringes on the former, you will get a revolution.

Can't help myself

Lately, I've been lovin' me some lever action rifles, and picked up another one yesterday. The rifle below (click to enlarge so you can truly enjoy its beauty) is the Cimarron/Uberti version of the 1873 Winchester known as the U.S. Marshal IT (which stands for Indian Territory). This rifle came about not long ago when an active member of the US Marshal's Service approached Cimarron and asked if the company could make him an old school rifle he could carry in his car while on duty. The result is what you see in the picture. It's more or less the regular 1873 Winchester clone, with the barrel cut down to 18 inches, and with an inch shaved off the stock. The rifle is chambered in .44 Special, which is a sweet-shooting round (the tube magazine holds 9 or 10 rounds, can't remember off hand). I had it out to the range today, and it worked flawlessly, and proved to be pretty accurate at 50 yards (which is about the farthest I can see a target, to be frank). The Second Amendment is my hill to die on, and I'd be proud to go down fighting with something like this (preferably surrounded by a pile of empty brass cases).

Update  Here's an interesting video on an old Winchester rifle that was found leaning against a tree in the Great Basin National Park by park employees.

Does Mitt Romney literally have no principles or loyalty at all?

Pierre Delecto, apparently trying to establish a leadership role for himself in the Vichy-GOP, is reported to be considering an offer from Biden to serve in the latter's cabinet as head of the Department of Health and Human Services.

And, yes, the question that serves as the title of this post is rhetorical.

Update  Dang! I can't boycott Faux News because I never watched the Faux channel anyway. In fact, since I don't have cable (I've got Roku), I'm not signed up for the Faux channel at all.

Is there a more obnoxious woman in America than Michelle Obama?

Failed fashion model and over-privileged, lifetime ticket holder of a seat in the first-class compartment of the gravy train, Michelle Obama, was recently encouraging Democrats to reach out to Trump supporters in spite of the "lies and hate" - our lies and hate, to make it plain.

I don't really know what to say about this harpy's  lack of self-awareness, her arrogance, her bloated sense of entitlement. So, I'll just quote that old Chinese philosopher, Pok Ho, who had the same words of wisdom that he always directed to permanently obtuse people like Michell Obama: "Yuck, Fu, unworthy plaything of dung beetles!"

Btw, I saw, somewhere, a link to an article at National Review by a guy whose name I never heard before. Can't find it now, but I recollect, from the headline, that this unobservant slacker was baffled by the "canard" of cheating in the election. I suspect that he may have been unconsciously thinking of the word "Cunard", and wistfully remembering those great old days when cheap replicas of conservatives like Bill Kristol, Jonah Goldberg and George Will served as the draw (if you can fathom such a thing) for people of a conservative bent to pony up their hard-earned dollars to take a cruise with these fellows, where the unsuspecting rubes were herded into the saloon and Kristol et al would release their establishment gas to a captive audience of increasingly confused auditors who, ultimately driven by tainted food and bad ideas to the ship's rail to puke over the side, found themselves wallowing in remorse for not simply renting that vacation home in Nags Head as they had originally planned to do. As I say, I can't find the story now, even though, for the first time in ages, I actually visited the NRO site, which is, as you would expect, the slightest shadow of the magazine Bill Buckley founded. And screw you, Andrew McCarthy, for your two-cheers-for-Trump b.s. I'm not forgetting that you were also the former government attorney who originally vouched for the professionalism of Robert Mueller and his pals before later putting on your shocked face and gasping, "Well, I never!"

Busy, busy

Sorry about no funnies, today. We've been in Virginia Beach visiting with the kids and the grandkids, plus today was a travel day.

Elsewhere, the election remains in doubt, regardless of what the press says, but I will tell you something: although Trump's up against long odds, he's the only person in the country who would have a prayer of successfully fighting the commie coup, so I pray for him (and us). And here's something else to chew on. When Bill Clinton was elected for two terms, I didn't like it at all, but I never said, "he's not my president". When Obama was elected for two terms, I liked the outcome even less, but I didn't claim "he's not my president".

But, by God almighty, if Biden is ultimately confirmed in the position, I am declaring loud and clear that he is NOT my president. Not after all the cheating and election fraud, not after all the Big Tech censorship, and certainly not after four years of the Democrat/Media/Deep State complex working night and day to undermine President Trump and prevent him from reaching the great potential he showed. And when, after a few months, the mewling, drooling husk of Joe Biden is strapped to a gurney and wheeled out of the White House for the last time to a hospital or hospice, his cackling whore of a sidekick isn't going to be my president either.

Oh, by the way, I see that Big Brother's ugly sister, Jennifer Rubin, is making a list of people in the media and government who are to be targeted for career "liquidation" for supporting Trump (or even for just drawing attention to the numerous instances of fraud and "irregularities" that have come to light). The 70 million know how to make a list, too, you vile harpy, and we will not be enslaved. No "healing", no "reconciliation"; these are just different words meaning submission.

And George Bush can shove a weapon of mass destruction where the photons don't reach.

Democrats' real plan

 The one-party state.

Working -with-your-hands Wednesday

A republic, if you can keep it

Yeah, well, thanks, Ben, we appreciate everything that you and Tom and George and the rest of the boys did for us, but, you know, eternal vigilance turned out to be too fatiguing, and it's just so much easier to let the experts think things out for us and tell us what to do. So, no hard feelings, 'k?

What a mess. I think we're obviously in the "praying for a miracle" stage, and that's what I'm doing, but I cannot adequately express the measure of disgust I have for tens of millions of my fellow citizens. I don't know whether trickery and fraud will ultimately tip the scales or not, but given the vast number of legitimate votes cast for one of the weakest, and one of the most corrupt, Democratic presidential candidates in living memory, the inescapable fact is that the country is infested with people - perhaps dominated by people - who are plagued by a profound ignorance of history, as well as by sheer political imbecility.

And what's the deal with Arizona? Perhaps some cheating going on there, too, but still, Biden got a lot of votes. Is the state now subject to swing blocs made up of transplanted Californians and members of the cult of John McCain? Perhaps Veeshir and other commenters can provide enlightenment.

As for us, Mrs. Paco and I will be spending time with our children and grandchildren over the next several days, so blogging will be light.

God save us.

Update:  Michael Walsh's words were never more appropriate and timely than they are now: the Democrats are a criminal organization masquerading as a political party. Hundreds of thousands of votes showing up on thumb drives early in the morning, ALL for Biden. Something to remember and keep in the forefront of our minds: people who will blithely deprive you of your right to self-government by fraudulently nullifying your vote will have no qualms about suppressing your other civil rights, and, ultimately, will not even balk at herding you into "reeducation" camps - and worse.

Perhaps some of these tens of thousands of Trump supporters who stood out in the cold to see and hear the president in Pennsylvania and Michigan and Wisconsin, and voted for him, only to see their votes illegally cancelled through fraud will start working within their states and counties to insure electoral integrity going forward. I hope so, because we're looking at straight-up gangster government.

Update II  Some people are suggesting that, should Trump lose this election, he should run again in 2024. I am absolutely on board with that idea, particularly if our alternatives are naifs like Marco Rubio, buffoons like Mitt Romney or anybody at all in the Bush orbit. Besides, Grover Cleveland - in my opinion, the last Good Democrat President - served two non-consecutive terms. It's been done before. It would all depend on Trump's continuing good health and his own desire, of course.

And while we're on the subject of WWII, here's a video about the "Ni'ihau Incident" in Hawaii, which featured a Japanese pilot who had the misfortune of having to make an emergency landing after the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Good luck, Mr. President!

And good luck to the rest of us, too.

Update   Wise counsel, as always, from Kurt Schlichter.

And now, a word from our sponsors

Vote like your country's future depends on it - because it does!

Astonishing

Edward Luttwak discusses an open letter from two retired Lt. Colonels to General Mark A Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, practically inviting the latter to stage a military intervention in the event Trump loses and declines to decamp from the White House. The letter is slanderous in its inferences, dishonest in its assertions and idiotic in its prescriptions. The real danger, as I see it, is that Trump may indeed win the election, and yet still be subjected to violence and removal from office.

Seriously, have we arrived at a Seven Days in May moment? Do these establishment morons really think that tens of millions of ardent - and armed - Trump supporters are going to sit back and let either a few highly politicized brass hats or a network of revolutionary mobs destroy our president, our form of government and our way of life?

Greta Thunberg's sad awakening

 A fairy tale.

Make America Geriatric Again!

Biden is looking so feeble and confused during his campaign "appearances" that it is an impressive testament to the madness of Trump haters that anyone could vote for Sleepy Joe; Biden is the "yellow dog" of yellow-dog Democrats (and that newish breed, yellow-dog RINOs).

Trump, on the other hand, is amazing: up to five rallies a day, spread out over thousands of miles, featuring the President's boundless energy and good humor: he is truly a happy warrior. And how wonderful to watch a non-politician in a role of political leadership.

I pray for Donald Trump's victory; it would be a relief to see the Republic get a reprieve for the next four years (which, when you get to be my age, is not an insignificant amount of time).
